We had such a fun time hanging out with Ethan, Jennifer, and Jaden on the grounds of the Southern Baptist Theological Seminary for their summer family session! Lindsay provided some beautiful reflected light with my Westcott Omega Reflector (as always — great job, babe!), and despite the crazy humidity outside that day, I think the three of them did amazing. Let us know what you think about their portraits in the comments! 🙂
I’m a little late on blogging this family’s beautiful portrait session, but I just couldn’t wait any longer! Shooting, editing, and babysitting my little one have consumed quite a bit of time (which is A-OK, btw!), but I’ve finally found some time to sit down, write a little bit about people that Lindsay and I have grown to love, and share their photos with you.
There I was, just minding my own business on our vacation. A couple of those mornings during a whole week at St. Simon’s Island, I went on early morning strolls (say, around 6:30).
I was walking along, when up on the shore swam this little mermaid!
You think I’m crazy. But I assure you…
I’m not crazy.
And here’s my proof! How adorable is she??
After chatting with the mermaid, she was able to tell me where she got her lovely crocheted suit! She would like to thank Amazon for providing such a beautiful product and bringing it straight to the sea!
She apologizes, however, for the interesting tidal system they have going on there at St. Simon’s. For future reference, the best times to come to the beach are in the early mornings and evenings if you want the tide to be in and make the walk down the sand a little shorter. You can tell your delivery guys. Sorry for any inconvenience!
Okay, in all seriousness, that’s my daughter in those photos. But I’m sure you already knew that 🙂
I love, love, LOVE photographing newborn babies. I can’t explain it, so I won’t go into a diatribe about all the reasons why newborns are the cutest things in the world. We KNOW this!
So I was HONORED when Brennan and Erica asked me to photograph Ellington.
I photographed her older brother, Gentry, for his second birthday. You may recall this adorable little face: A Boy + and His Dog.
Being asked to continue to serve a client by photographing their family as they grow together is a huge blessing. Many thanks to Brennan and Erica! 🙂
I hope you enjoy these as much as I enjoyed shooting/editing them!

My step-sister, Kristen, contacted me soon after her third baby was born, and we scheduled a date as soon as we could! I went over to their house — about an hour’s drive for us — during the day on the day of the shoot, and we set up right in her living room. The light was beautiful in there as it streamed through the front storm door, so all the work was done right there. The sun was in the perfect spot: it was sending in ambient light right where we needed it, but it wasn’t sending in any harsh rays.
The shoot went really well, and I even got a back rub from one of Penelope’s older brothers! While working! Talk about service, eh?
Here are some images from Penelope’s shoot that I think you’ll love. You can find some more sneak peeks of hers on my Facebook page (http://www.facebook.com/timothymarseephotography), or you can find some on my Instagram page (http://www.instagram.com/timmyphoto).
